1. DRIVING EXPERIENCE

All hirers must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months, we cannot supply to anyone with a provisional licence or someone who has not held a full licence for less than 12 months.

2. AGE RESTRICTIONS

All hirers must be between 23 and 75 years of age although there are some vehicles that require a minimum age, these vehicles are indicated on the fleet section of the booking process.

3. DRIVING LICENCE ENDORSEMENTS

Whilst we can hire to customers with some endorsements on their licence there are certain endorsements on their licence, which, for insurance reasons restrict our ability to supply a vehicle. We can supply to customers with up to 6 points for speeding and we can also accommodate some road traffic offences. We cannot supply to anyone with a DR, IN or BA code issued within the last 5 years, Also if you have a DD or CD code or any other offence code you are unsure about please contact our reservations team for clarification.

4. OCCUPATION

There are restrictions imposed by our insurers which mean that we are unfortunately unable to hire to persons in certain occupational areas. These Include professional entertainers, professional sports persons, publicans, night club owners, owners of gaming establishments members of foreign military and students.

5. MINIBUS HIRE

Due to insurance restrictions we are unable to supply any Minibus to anyone with a licence issued outside of the UK. All drivers must be over 25 years old. If you did not pass your driving test before 1997 your licence must show the D1 category. If you are unsure about any of the above, then please contact our office on 01303 252088.

6. RESPONSIBILITY FOR RENTAL VEHICLE

Vantage Vehicles holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental vehicle in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. Unless prohibited by law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, including loss of use should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalised. You shall inform us immediately if any vehicle is damaged, a fault develops in any vehicle or a vehicle is lost or stolen.

  • 6.1 You will need to supply a crime reference number if the vehicle is involved in an accident or stolen. deriver to us every document of any kind received to any claim involving the vehicle where an accident or incident has occurred.
  • 6.2 Ensure all information is accurate, complete, and not misleading.
  • 6.3 YOU shall not without our written prior consent engage in any repairs.
  • 6.4 You are not entitled to make any claim against us for loss or damage to any property left stored or transported in or upon the Vehicle except where such loss or damage is directly caused by our negligence.
  • 6.5 If any act or omission or failure to comply with these terms by you causes or contributes to invalidation of the manufactures warranty of the vehicle you will be responsible for any and all costs incurred by us that are associated with this invalidation. This is the case regardless of fault the renter may also be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss. Be sure any estimated damage to the vehicle has been recorded properly before leaving the rental location.

7. INSURANCE

Your use of the vehicle is covered by the terms or our insurance policy. The insurance policy meets all legal requirements and protects you against legal claims from any person for death or personal injury or damage to any other persons property caused using the vehicle. All Vantage vehicles are supplied with fully comprehensive insurance. This carries a standard £1000 damage. Please note this excess is not refundable in any case. You can reduce this excess by choosing the CDW option detailed below. Please note that any damage excess due, must be paid in full at the end of the hire period. Companies own insurance must be fully comprehensive and a copy of the certificate must be presented before the hire begins.”

  • 7.1 You must comply with these Terms so that our insurance policy is not invalidated. Our insurance does not protect you for loss or damage to the vehicle caused by driver abuse, negligence or breach of these terms, If our insurance cover is declined as a result of you or your Named Driver’s actions or omissions or any failure to comply with these Terms you will be required to pay us any and all reasonable costs and losses that we incur or suffer as a result. This includes the paying us for all our reasonable costs caused by any claim against us or our insurers Including the following:
  • 7.1.1 Paying the value of the replacement of vehicle and paying the cost of repair to the vehicle.
  • 7.1.2 You shall be responsible for any and all loss we suffer if you damage the roof of the vehicle by driving or attempting to drive the vehicle under a height restriction (or similar such as collision with bridges, tunnels or over hanging structures) which damages the roof. The cost of such damage is excluded from the Insurance.

11. VANTAGE VEHICLES

All Vantage vehicles are NON-SMOKING. Please also note that all DOGS must be kept on a dog blanket or cover. If on returning your vehicle, signs of either the above are found you will be liable for the cost of a full valet at a charge of £35.00 + vat. This will be charged to your credit/ debit card.

12. HIRING TERMS:

All hires are to be paid by Credit/Debit card at the start of the hire. No deposit is required unless for overseas hire. (please see section below).

13. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER

Collision damage waiver insurance is available on all our vehicles, this reduces your standard excess from £1000 to £250. The cost of this is £8 per day for all cars and vans and £10 per day form MPV vehicles (not available for oversees use).Please note you will still be liable for the full excess amount for all overhead, tyre and windscreen damage claims

14. RETURNING YOUR VEHICLE

Give yourself ample time to return your vehicle. While we pride ourselves on expediting the return, you may still need a few moments. The vehicle is expected to be returned in the same condition as rented to the customer. Normal wear and tear is expected. The vehicle should be checked for damage at the time of return both by you and your return agent. If there is damage, you may be required to fill out a damage report Make sure to ask for a copy of the damage report for any insurance and/or credit card reimbursement procedures.

If special cleaning is required for whatever reason, a separate charge will be made directly to the customer to cover the cost of any cleaning.

15. ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

An additional 3 drivers are permitted to drive the rental vehicle requested making a total of 4 drivers. The charges for any required additional drivers are £5.00 Per day for any of the vehicles we supply.

16. CANCELLATION POLICY

Should you request to cancel your reservation then this must be advised with 48 Hours’ notice. Any cancellation made after this period will incur a £25.00 cancellation fee. If you re-book at the time of your cancellation, then your fee will be taken off your next rental reservation.

17. LONDON CONGESTION CHARGE, PARKING, SPEEDING FINES DARTFORD CROSSING FEES AND ULEZ.

It is the hirers responsibility, to pay all London charges, parking, and speeding fines. If our company receive notification of an unpaid fine, then we will charge the amount of the fine plus £15.00 + vat admin charge to the card used upon booking.

18. LOSS OF VEHICLES KEYS

In the event of the rental vehicles keys being mislaid, lost, or stolen, then our company will charge for the courier charges to deliver the spare keys plus the total cost to replace the missing keys and reprogramming of central locking key fob if required.

19. YOUR REQUESTED RENTAL VEHICLE

Every effort is made to supply the model of the rental vehicle of your choice. However, there may be occasions that a substitute vehicle of the same size and specification may well be supplied in place of the requested vehicle due to lack of availability. In addition, we cannot guarantee a specific colour of vehicle.

20. EARLY RETURNS

Please note that we will not issue any refunds unless otherwise agreed in advance should you return the rental vehicle supplied before the pre¬arranged termination time and date.

21. RENTAL VEHICLES SUPPLIED TRAVELUNG TO OTHER ECC COUNTRIES

We allow our rental vehicles to be taken abroad to EEC members and European insurance cover is supplied. All vehicles are covered by OUR roadside assistance and recovery service. Under no circumstances will we allow any of our rental vehicles to be taken abroad without our prior consent. Please note we can supply your overseas pack (high vis jacket, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle and headlight converters) at an extra cost.

Rules and regulations: check before you travel with DVLA on their website If you are planning to drive abroad, you will need to be aware of your responsibilities to follow driving laws in your destination country. We strongly recommend you make your own investigations before travelling. Alternatively, The RAC website provides useful information and tips on driving abroad.

22. COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

Our company is confident, that the service we offer to all our customers will be of the highest standard and that your rental vehicle supplied will be very satisfactory. However, should you wish to lodge a complaint, then this must be submitted via e-mail within 28 days from the commencement day of your rental vehicle being supplied. On receipt of your e-mailed complaint we will then investigate and respond within 7 working days. Please note, that any complaint received later than the 28 days, cannot be accepted.
